G'day fellow sufferers

I posted a query about my problems after upgrading from OS 9.1 to 922
on my G3/233 beige DT: my email wouldn't work, my cd burner wouldn't
burn and my scanner would not scan.

I thought some might be interested in how I solved these problems.

Email: I replaced my new modem scripts with the 9.1 scripts. Worked.
CD: I reinstalled CD Speedtools V6, problem solved.
Scanner: this took a lot more time: I reinstalled the software
several times, checked and re checked the system folder, downloaded &
installed Apple's USB card support, talked to Epson tech help all to
no avail.

Finally I reinstalled 9.1 on another drive, took out the 9.1 USB
extensions & replaced the 9.2 ones. Voila!

So one question: Why does 9.2 not like these standard extensions and
drivers? It shouldn't happen; and it makes me very leery of
"upgrading" to OS X if I get this kinda hassle with going to 9.1 to
9.2.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Paul
