Hi, I have a PowerMac G3/300 Desktop, MacOS 9.2.2, 30 gig HD, 768 Mb Ram,
and I'd like to install OS X.
My problem is: Mac won't boot from the OS X CD.
If I try with the 9 CD it boot OK so it isn't a CD problem.
Any ideas?

Out of the near 30 times that I have put X on G3 DT's and have had problems booting to X, it was always one of two items causing this. Foremost, A Bad RAM card. It would show ok on OS 9 but would not allow X to boot. Secondly, jumper position wrong on ATA drives. Make sure your Master and slave drives are configured correctly.

My system consists of :
BGEDT G3 rev. C 400mhz 1MB BSC, Radeon ME 32 mb , 768 MB RAM, 40 GB fujitsu IDE as master, Maxtor 60 GB IDE as slave, Sony CD-RW CRX120E IDE internal, Maxtor 5 port USB card, ASOUND 4 port USB hub, Cannon flatbed 656u USB scanner, Epson 777 USB printer, SanDisk USB flashcard reader. Logitech two button wheel mouse, 10.2.3 & OS 9.2.2 as classic
For as much a sin as it is to waste a day, I do not think it a waste or a sin to sit in front of my Mac all day. Andy3
