Hi all;
I just got my Beige G3-300MT a couple of weeks ago and have a problem I
can't figure out. The MT came with an ATTO-Apple SCSI card driving a Quantum
Viking 4.5 WSE SCSI HDD. I moved the Viking to the lower bay, still on the
SCSI card, SCSI bus 1,ID=0 and terminated. No other drives on the card.
Installed my 40Gig Maxtor in it's place as my main boot drive,ATA bus
0,ID=0 and terminated. Now the problem. Everything I use is on the Maxtor
drive. Sometimes in the middle of whatever I'm doing it will try to acess
the Viking drive and the MT freezes. Mouse moves, but that's all. Three
finger salute time. Seems to do it more in Outlook Express more than
anything.
I've cleared the PRAM with TT Pro,zapped PRAM(Command,Option,P,R) 10 times
and trashed Finder prefs. The only thing I may have changed is to use a
different plug in the SCSI cable attached to the card when I moved the
drive. It has 3 or 4. Which one should be used with a single drive?
I'm running OS 8.6 on the Maxtor and 8.5 on the Viking, 384 megs of ram with
VM set to 385. Any and all help appreciated. TIA
