Ok I this should fall into the "once-removed" category, if not I apologize
in advance.

My mother has a slot loading G-3 iMac. Ever-so-often when we re-boot it we
get a strange tone then the power button light flickers, and then it boots
to a command line. It says something like "type system-boot to boot" so we
type whatever it says and it boots up.

Any one know what's causing this? Is this Mac dieing, it seems to be
happening more often.

TIA for your help
