Sounds good BUT I would think the iPod would actually be a hindrance for
taking photos IF it was being used as the sole storage unit for a camera.
This is what makes the various storage media cards great for photography
because there are no cords to get in your way and their weight is a
non-factor. Photographers need to sometimes be in awkward positions in order
to take a shot and having an iPod attached via a cord to the camera would be
annoying at best. Now if the iPod were used as the storage device where you
download your photos while out in the field then that would seem more
sensible. There are firewire cameras already on the market. I guess you
would just need to write the software for the iPod so that it can simply
download the photos. Also importantly are the various USB digital cameras
out there already that need some way to connect to the iPod. As Roland
mentioned maybe some sort of card adapter that could interface with the
iPod's firewire. OR maybe a new iPod with a USB (2.0?) and Firewire ports.
This would save the photographer from lugging his/her laptop around. Then
again some photographers like to work on their photos right away in the
field so the iPod wouldn't be relevant in their case.
