Earlier I had reported our Beige was slowing down in the middle of the day.
The user would type in letters and there would be a long pause before the
letters would appear.

Thanks to all who emailed advice.

Basically we got three groups of advice:

1) Disable sleep

2)  Disable Iomega Driver

3)  Update to the latest version of CarbonLIB

(Some people also wrote to say that this behavior is typical of Beige units,
so live with it.)

For us the answer was simple:  disable hard disk sleep.  No problems since.
