I have a small home network of Macs and am interested in using my G3 Beige DT as a disk server for the other Macs. Currently all my other Macs except one are running Jag (the other is running 9.1). I have a 180 GB hard drive on the DT that is under utilized. I could also put my SCSI CD burner on the DT to do backups.

What is the best way to set up the G3 DT?

Right now, I have Jaguar and 9.2 but don't feel obligated to stick with either one. Is Jaguar or 9.2 (or 9.1) better?

How would I configure the system and/or partition the HD?

Are there any online resources that describe how to do this kind of thing?

What other questions should I be asking of this august body?

TIA,

Colin
