Well Apple's hasn't updated the firmware for their ATTO-based SCSI cards 
in a while ATTO did, to make sure that their hardware is up to date and 
compatible with the latest operating systems and to clear out bugs. 
That's usually the reason why another firmware update is being released 
for SCSI cards, CD-RWs etc etc.
