Were there any CD Drive Face plates made that show the full front of the CD
ROM drive in a Beige G3 Tower?

Yes ...

Proline Distribution, Inc
P.O. Box 686
Kentfield, CA 94914
(415) 461-2227

... made just about *everything* which Apple forgot (or didn't want to) make
for the 8600/9600 and the Beige MT, including the generic CD-ROM, CD-R/W,
DVD-ROM-R/W bezel (and shield) you describe.

Alas, Proline Distribution liquidated its inventory of Beige MT stuff in
about June of 2002, with everything *except* the bezel you desire being
liquidated for about ten cents on the dollar.

Sometimes the Proline stuff shows up on e-bone, usually being sold by an
individual in Oregon.

Or what can I use to cut the blank face plate?

A Zip drive bezel, rough cut using a Zona "razor saw" and smoothed using a
Simonds "laminate file" is one quick-and-dirty solution that looks pretty
professional ... unless you look *very* closely.

That's what I'm using on my Yamaha SCSI CD-R/W drives, the ones with the
trapezoidally-shaped drawer fronts, which won't pass through *any* bezel I am
aware of.
