Are you referring to a Windows Server running AD Services. If you are I 
recommend you become a Beta Tester for ADmitMac. It's a product that is 
going to be released from Thursby, It will allow a Mac to join a 
Windows Network Via AD services. That way your OS X box will 
authenticate off the Windows Server instead of the local account.
