What OS are you running?  I had a problem with my 333mt with 8.6.  My sound
input was ka-put.  When I upgraded to 9.2.2, it came back.  Also, try
cleaning the contacts on the board with a pencil eraser, and blowing out the
slot on the motherboard.  These beige g3 sound boards are VERY finicky.
