The cube takes the funny apple connectors. We have one with the old apple 17" studio monitor--thats the one with the clear back that allows you to see the innards. It also supports the remote powered USB bus which is also really cool.
This is a gorgeous monitor. It is much better than those flat screen thingys. I am getting old,and other monitors make my eyes hurt--but I can look at this for hours. -- even at 1056x790. I am thinking about gettin one to hook to my Ti-Book.
I have seen them sell used for $100. (make sure you get the clear covers with the flat screen. Oh, and shipping is a lot because they weigh a ton and a half).
By the way---most applications allow you the ability to set the type size in the window. I am constantly upsizing type. I upsize the type all the time. (In the old days I produced the most beautiful briefs, and everybody--who didn't have macs--commented on them. But now I no longer use 11 point times--I check out the age of the judge and use 14 point Times or Palatino.)
