Have you looked at the price of used Cubes lately? It makes me think seriously about selling my old one and getting a new 1GzG4. (My sec'y might object however).
I have been waiting for over a year for the price of 450 sawtooths to fall--and they just don't.
I may have to go out and buy new.
A function of rarity and functionality...the cubes are really desired, since few were made, and they're a unique form factor.
(The cube was largely a victim of it's pricing...had Apple simply gritted its teeth, priced the cube down below the entry-level G4 tower, they'd have sold a bucketload of them...the problem is that the cube, for all it's design and functional bravura, didn't have the right price point to sell on it's own merits, which is too bad, because it was a really REALLY cool computer)
That said, wait 'till August when the G5's start shipping...Sawtooth prices will come down.
Then again, if you buy new you're getting a 5 or so fold performance improvement with even the low-end G5...
