Do the cards youve tried have the OPTI chipset? As far as im aware this is the only type of card supported on the MAC.

Yes, I installed the Apple USB extensions and all of there were running. I
think it was 1.4.1 I installed.
I have tried all the slots. Some USB cards show up in the Apple System Profiler and some dont. The ones that do even show what USB devices are hooked up (it picked my hub up), but no power.
Do I need to use powered devices only and if so, can I just get a powered
hub and plug unpowered devices into that.
I need USB and this is getting to me. I have been trying for months.
