I wouldn't try that with a powerbook though ;-)

There are metal parts and they will  rust!  It's not a good Idea, if you do
try it would have to be gentle cycle so as not to blow the keys off the
board.
Be a better idea to Get canned air and blow out the junk then soft cloth
oaand Q-tip to clean aroung the keys..
