It's a good transition. I noticed a definite difference in speed moving 
from my Beige to a B&W, even though I was using the same zif. The rev 1 
is only a problem if you intend to have two hard drives on the same 
bus, but this is easily circumvented by getting a pci ata card. The 
firewire bus is also a bit touchy in the B&W, so if you need to use 
firewire get a pci card for it. 

Personally, I'd suggest a G4 of the 133mhz bus variety (466, 533, dual 
533, 667) if you can afford it. It will offer a better speed jump than 
just the B&W, plus better support for OSX (AGP video, several steps up 
from the minimum requirements for Panther). Prices for a 533 (for 
instance) start at around $550 on ebay. Not a bad bang for the buck.
