More Ram would help.. although 256 should run ok

But don't see why not I have X on a Blue&White G3 (formerly a server) 450
mhz, 512 meg Ram, 2 X 9gig SCSI HD's and 1 20 gig 7200 rpm
Runs the same  as it does on my G4 400 mhz only real difference is the G4
has 1 gig ram...
