Not sure why the supposedly "older" USB drivers from ACS 1.4.1 work better than the OS 9.2.2 versions on Beige G3's,
Compare what's being installed vs. what's there by default in the 9.2 setup and you'll see that the USB adapter card package includes an additional item: USB Mass Storage Extension. Just add that to the new 9.2 stuff and it'll then work.
