I bought a Lexmark Z-65n (recently discontinued) http://www.lexmark.com/US/products/overview/0,1224,Mjc0NHwx,00.html It's fast and quiet and text looks great. Graphics are good as well. Standard two ink-cart system. The "n" in the model name means network, and mine's plugged into Ethernet. My iMac running 10.2 likes it (has a good OS X printer driver!) and so does my niece's PTP running 9.2.2. Note: the official requirements call for at least OS 8.6 and USB, even when used only on a network. So, for beige Macs running OS 8.6 or 9, you must have the various USB extensions installed. And one of the Lexmark extensions should be disabled (it'll becomes obvious which one) because it otherwise tries to "talk to the USB port". -David -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
