Just purchased a refurbished G4 450 Sawtooth. Software Update shows that
firmware upgrade to v. 4.2.8 is available. I currently have 3.2.6. Is there
any compelling reason to install or not install the upgrade?

Thanks,
Ken

In my experience the Apple firmware updates are usually a good idea. You'd have to check out it's ReadMe for more info on what it does. Actually, run Software Update again. When you click on the selection, a synopsis should show right there what the new firmware does.
