Um, I guess you missed the part where I said I moved it to another
connector on the ribbon cable...

Well, anyway, thanks to Travis on this list who was VERY helpful, I did
figure it all out. There was another ATA ribbon cable inside the MT that
was not connected to anything and I connected that to the other IDE bus at
J9, connected it to the hard drive, and plugged a power plug into it. I
booted it back up and the iMac HD mounted on the desktop, the CDROM still
works (since it is back to original configuration), and my system works
fine with no slowdown. So problem solved!
