Um, I guess you missed the part where I said I moved it to another connector on the ribbon cable...
Nope, didn't miss it.
The ribbon connector from the CDROM wouldn't reach to the new HD, so I tried removing the CD connector and moving it down the ribbon and then using the connector that had been in the CD for the HD.
When you said you removed the CD connector and moved it down and then used "the connector that had been in the CD for the HD" I took that to mean you had disconnected the CDROM ribbon and used it for the iMac's HD.
In re-reading that section, it still looks like that to me. I suppose by "connector" you meant power connector. Anyway, glad you got some help.
