Configuration and software (cost also) I assume you asking about say a B&W the server model and the standard model look the same. usuall the Servers come with SCSI hard drives rather than IDE. If you want to know if you can use a server as a regular computer the answer is yes. You can format and install, G3 software that came with (example: standard install cd's 8.6) you can install 9 and X also.
