G'day from Oz, all.

To all the people having trouble installing Jaguar.

As I've reported on my help site, one of the reasons that OS X stops installing, and just sits there rolling along forever, is that the install disk, especially the first one, is not clean enough. You might think they're clean, but they have to be <scrupulously> clean.

Use tissues or a disk cleaning cloth, or get them polished at a video store. Whatever process Apple use to make them makes them very fussy about being read. I had to polish mine using tissues in a radial manner, from inside out, like spokes. Don't polish circularly, as circular scratches make the disk harder to read. My install disk kept hanging at the start, when 'Reading packages'.

Hopefully, this might help.

Regards

Santa

And what, you ask, was the beginning of it all?
And it is this......
Existence that multiplied itself
For sheer delight of being
And plunged with numberless trillions of forms
So that it might
find
itself
innumerably
