Last summer when I bought an Apple refurbished iBook from Small Dog, I asked the reseller if it came with Jaguar. They didn't know, so I bought the Jaguar upgrade. When it arrived it came with the standard gray iBook CDs but also the Jaguar upgrade CDs, so I had two complete sets of upgrade CDs, having bought another set separately. The upgrade CDs look exactly the same. The numbers are all the same and there is no indication on the set that came with the iBook, that they are only for the iBook. So I put both sets in my CD case and didn't think any more about it.
When I was having all the problems with the upgrade, (and getting panics that said something about no Gossamer drivers), I decided I'd try upgrading with the other set, and to my surprise, the upgrade went through flawlessly. So now, I've upgrade to 10.2 and then on to 10.2.6 with software update, and everything is working flawlessly. Has any else had any experience with this?
