is there any way to bring up the starup disk control panel and choose which drive I want to startup with (OS X or 9.2)? it would be very useful specially because every time I choose to startup 9.2 while in OSX, the computer freezes with the happy mac icon.

Hold down the option key during startup, if you have a New World machine. (B&W G3 or later).

On older machines I don't know if there is such a comand.

You can boot from the OS X cd and use the startup disk control panel on it to reset you to OSX
