correct me if i'm wrong but doesnt the B&W g3 have limited altivec support?
If you consider 'None', 'Zero', 'Bupkiss', 'Nada' to mean 'Limited', why then yes it has 'Limited' support ;-P
Altivec is strictly a feature of the G4 chip. (G5 chips have similar, and compatible coprocesor features, but they also have extended features as well).
