As has been noted, the discontinuation of IE does not mean the discontinuation of all else. I have gotten alone without IE all my (computer)life, and indeed with M$ products as a whole, tho I do admit to having bought Word 5 and Excel 4 when they were new way back when and I still have them installed for use in Classic. Both work as well as they ever did. But tthey are not necessary to communicate. Both Mariner and RagTime can open and store in MS formats. RagTime is cross-platform as well, running just as happily on Windoze boxes. It can do almost anything you need including Postscript, and real layout.
