Fan rpm is a function of both heat generated inside the unit, and heat
pulled in (as cooling air) from outside the unit.

The fan runs slower most times, and speeds up as the ambient temperature,
hence the inside air temperature, increases.

DTs usually run hot, anyway, and the sensor for the fan is a thermister
on one of the heatsinks within the supply.

This is but one difference between the G3 DT supply, and the otherwise
quite similar 7300 (Rev. G) and 7500/7600 (Rev. B) supplies. The 7300 and
7500/7600 supplies don't have this feature.
