Trying to update from 9.1 to 9.2.1, installer hung for 3 hours on "Updating
Hard Disk Driver", and I gave up and cancelled. Seems to me this happened when
i went from 8.1 to 9 as well, same time as I installed a new HD (IBM Deskstar),
but I was able to skip the HD driver update, install 9.1, and have had no
problems, other than a 10 second hang when I launch Sherlock.
Did I not wait long enough, is there a problem because of the non-Apple drive, or what? I have Intech's Hard Drive Speed Tools, would "taking over"the drive with that let me update the driver? Do I need to erase and reinstall? Appreciate any help.

Did you boot from CD-ROM when you did this. That would be a start. -- Clark Martin Redwood City, CA, USA Macintosh / Internet Consulting
