On just about any Mac, holding down the X key after turning on Mac will force it to boot to OS X (no, holding down the 9 key will not force a boot to OS 9).

On Mac models starting with G4 400 you can hold down the Option key on startup. This will boot to the "Startup Manager." If you have 9 and X installed (only works if on different partitions) you can pick which OS and continue to boot.

Is there a
way of choosing which OS boots or a way of resetting the boot sequence.
