Hi I have an iMac G3 400 with 10Gb hard drive.
I need some more hard drive space, not right now but I will need to soon. I know that you cannot add another hard drive into the iMac. Can I replace the hard drive with another model? What sort of hard drive do i need? Is it IDE? Whats the maximum hard drive size I can put in? If I put a large drive in it without any partitions do I need to do anything special with OS X? Not wanting to rip my iMac apart, can I get an external USB or Firewire hard drive? Are external drives very fast and reliable? Do they just show up on the desktop as a second hard drive - pretty much like the mini flash drives do? PS the bonus of saving everything to an external drive is if OS goes down or heaven forbid, my iMac dies then everything is saved externally. I like that idea alot, plus it portable I could just take my external drive to work and plug it in a different mac. Simon -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
