I have  both the "mini" USB drive and Zip drives. Since I have started using
the "mini" drive, I have not touched the Zip. The USB has the advantage of
being "multi-platform" and most do not need drivers for use on a Windows
box. A benefit for me since I must use a Windows box at work.

The newest variation of the USB I have seen use memory cards (SD,Flash,
etc). This might be worth looking into for you as you could use any extra
memory cards from your digital camera.

The largest size of "mini" usb drive I have seen is 1 Gigabyte.
