OK can anyone give me the definitive facts on what plug-ins/codecs I need to play b____y anything on Quicktime 6?

G'day from Oz, Anders.

The answer is you can't play bloody everything. If you're on the net, Quicktime looks for plug-ins automatically, and often doesn't find a suitable one.

If you're using Jaguar, use Videolan VLC Media Player, there's not much it won't play.

Just change the file suffix to .wmv (if you don't have the Windows Player), or .asf to have the file open automatically.

And what, you ask, was the beginning of it all?
And it is this......
Existence that multiplied itself
For sheer delight of being
And plunged with numberless trillions of forms
So that it might
find
itself
innumerably
