Run Disk Warrior on it. If it's not a physical issue with the Zip disk itself, DW will fix it. The clacking sound usually shows up because the read/write heads can't find the data on the disk (like the first sector or whatever) and it clacks away...

Funny how this comes up after the mini usb vs. Zip debate we had. You'll never hear a "clack" coming from a mini USB drive... ;)
