4. Allow you to import existing mail from an older program, along with
mailboxes and so forth. I have quite a bit of mail I need to keep and be able
to refer to on an ongoing basis, and I need this organized into subject folders on import into Mail.
Yes. Most all the common mailers with 10.2.6.
IOW, Mail does not use the standard unix/sendmail mailbox format, like Eudora does? So you cannot simply move mailboxes around, even to PCs, and just use them, without conversion steps?
