I have an iMac which is on a mac local area network through an ethernet hub. The mac network is also connected to a PC network running exchange server which we use for retrieving emails via outlook, thats no problem. We also use it for connecting to the broadband connection at work.
I have a personal email account and would like to set up Mail to send and retrieve. I use Totalise for my emails which offer webmail as well as accessing it through a client. I can send and receive using the webmail but not using the email client.
It sends ok, but Totalise when sending through a client you have to use the outgoing SMTP server of your ISP and I can get them to send, but when it retrieves it says it cant connect to my POP server.
I realise this is something to do with my mac having to connect to the PC server via a proxy setting which are set up correctly for accessing the internet through the server, so assume it is a setting I have wrong.
Can anyone help?
Simon
