You want the hack for version 2.7 of the player.

It's available on the 'net as "Apple DVD Player 2.7 Patch".

Works on 9600s, too, so it will most likely work on almost any pre-Beige 
machine, given the right hardware (Radeon 7000, EIDE DVD-ROM drive or 
EIDE DVD-ROM-R-R/W drive). For pre-Beiges, you will need an UATA card and 
Intech's CD/DVD driver; for Beiges the builtin EIDE channels are OK.
