This is a strange one. I have an xserve running OS X Server 10.2.6. I need to access the workgroup manager, but I can't because I can't switch the monitor to 1024 x 768. If I plug this same monitor into an OS 9 machine, I can put it into 1024 x 768 at a 100Mz refresh rate. If I plug it into the xserve it only supports 800 x 600 at 56Mz or 60Mhz refresh rate. I can see all the other resolutions, but they are all grayed out. I have admin access. I already tried swapping monitors, same deal. The pram batter is good. Any ideas.
