Just two questions (as you are using one of these).

What cables does one need to conect to a camera or vcr? VCR's have scart-plugs and my camera two of these chubby plugs you use for stereos.

Do you use this card for video only, or does it have other uses? Does it repalce a USB card?
My primary use is for external firewire HD's. The digital video camera we have, JVC, came with a firewire cable. The camera end is their own proprietary (I assume) connector and the other is standard 4 pin firewire. I have also run an external burner with it. While we have a home LAN, nothing is quite as handy as a bus powered firewire drive for moving large amounts of data, via sneaker net, between computers. Old fashioned, but real reliable and handy.

This pretty much follows the still digital camera path. We have two Olympus and one Canon camera. All three are USB, however, the camera connector is different and proprietary. Even the two Olympus cameras have unique cables. The camera end connector is different on the 3 volt, pocket, point and shoot and the 6 volt, SLR.

I guess the OEM's figure they can make money selling proprietary cables with the cameras?
