>Does anyone know if ram can be inserted in random slots in a 7600?

Absolutely, completely at random ... and EDO and FPM mixed without regard
for the corresponding A/B slot.

Now, if corresponding slots are occupied by like sized sticks
(irrespective of FPM/EDO) then that pair of slots will be interleaved.

Sticks should be sorted by capacity and speed, and not mixed, wherever
possible.

If you wind up with a pair of like sized sticks, but the speeds are
different, intentionally switch those with a pair of different sized
sticks in order to inhibit interleaving.

This is probably not necessary if the sticks are 60 or 50 ns.
