--- You wrote: So, there is this Beige with a G4 OS9.2.2 with a wings AV card. --- end of quote --- If you have a DVD-A/V card, the latest of the three versions of personality cards, video IN won't work unless you have a rev 3 motherboard. Apparently, it won't work either if you have a add on video card like your Radeon.
If you have a non DVD A/Vcard, it should work with all three mother board versions, but it may still stop working with the Radeon in place. That part I don't know for sure. And I am only talking about video IN. Video out should work no matter which a/v or motherboard you have. Running System Profiler will tell you which personality card you have and which motherboard too. I think the motherboard is in code and someone else will have to translate the code, I don't know it. But my DVD a/v card comes up as text "DVD a/v card" in the profiler. It's worth noting that none of the a/v cards are great video digitizers anyway, by modern standards. But you don't need that card anyway. Apparently your camcorder outputs video over the usb port. Unless it compresses the video first, usb doesn't have the bandwidth to input great video, but it worth a try. A firewire port with digital video camera that has firewire output can bring professional level video into your Beige. Also, your Radeon 7000will output to a video monitor so you don't need the video out from your personality card either. Hope this helps. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
