After extensive research on my own part, I just purchased a Sony Cli SJ20
(predominantly for use between my PCs at home and at work). The SJ20 is the
last Sony Cli to ship with a a monochrome LCD. All subsequent Clis are
shipping with Color TFT screens.

The SJ20's are d*mn near impossible to find now as they have been discontinued
as of 9/1/2003. Oddly, Sony is completely out of them -- so the only SJ20's in
existence are in the warehouses of resellers and the personal collections of
folks on the auction sites.

Why Sony?
  * Most ship with 16MB RAM
  * All have a memory stick slot (Memory stick wouldn't be my first choice, but
it's better than my Handspring visor deluxe that could only use proprietary
cartridges)
  * Nearly all have high resolution screens 320x320 (instead of the 160x160
that is normal on most other Palm OS PDAs). Conveniently, this resolution will
scale back to 160x160 with apps that cant handle high-res.
  * For PCs, Clis come with a slew of software: image viewers, backup
software, paint software, Documents to Go 5.0 Standard, etc.

Alas, I digress.

I would wholeheartedly recommend a Sony Cli to anyone, EXCEPT a Mac user. The
problem is that Sony does not support synchronization with Jaguar. If you're
using a "Classic" OS... by all means, get a Cli.

Fortunately, there is a solve for Jaguar users -- a piece of software called The
MissingSync. It looks pretty good, but costs $30.

   OS 9 version: http://www.markspace.com/missingsync2.html

If money is no object, and you're on Jaguar, hey... go for it.

Me? I'm a thrifty SOB. It pains me to have to pay extra for a critical feature
when it should be included for free (that is, OS-X synchronization functionality).
