Well, I tried that. It didn't work. I guess I will be taking these things
apart, and checking everything inside. Maybe I can find a reset button on
the motherboard.

The reset button on a PB is usually external. Can't remember which PB
model exactly from your original post, but the button is usually in the
back by the other ports. Sometimes just a hole for a straightened paper
clip, sometimes a small button. All have a triangle near by. The symbol
of the reset button. Press and hold for a few seconds to get the max
effect.
