Hi Ken;
 After I read your reply on the list I pulled the drive and pulled a jumper
off an old IDE drive I have here and put it on the SCSI drive. I figured it
couldn't be any worse than it already was, so what the heck.
  I had to spread the pins a tiny bit on the drive to make the jumper fit
snug. Hooked the drive up, booted up and bingo, I've got my SCSI drive back,
good as new.
  I guess the jumper was a little loose when I bought my G3 and it finally
fell off. I guess that means a trip to CompUSA for some teenininee jumpers
and some other sizes. I'm also posting this to the list. Thanks everyone who
helped with advice.
