My Mac before the DVD.......
Beige G3
XLR8 G4 350 (runs at 366)
OS 10.2.8 & OS 9.2.2
368mb Ram
80GB drive connected to a Sonnet 66/ide card
Stock Apple 24x CD (set as master) connected to mobo
Yamaha 2100 CDRW (set as slave but on a separate cable) connected to mobo.
***let me add that this Mac ran like a charm, I was always able to boot back and forth between X & 9, the burner would work in X but not in 9 (ASP, in 9, showed the 2100 as unsupported.***
My plan was to swap the DVD for the Apple 24xCD.
I put the DVD in, leaving it set as Master, as the CD was and the the following problems arise.
In OS X.....
The DVD will mount but the 2100 won't.
In ASP under Device & Volumes it lists the DVD but in the spot where the
2100 should show it reads "ATADeviceNub", Unit Number 1, ATA Device
Type atapi, with nothing listed for the serial, revision or model
In OS 9.....
The machine locks up when trying to load the Apple CD/DVD Extension.
If I unplug the IDE cable from the 2100 and restart it will load fine.Your thoughts are welcome, on or off list
