I have 2 monitors and I was playing this older 68k game which froze the computer. After I started back up, my second monitor keeps going to sleep just before I get to the Desktop; it is connected to my Beige G3 monitor port ; the other is connected to an ixMicro 8mb card which is what I mainly use with my 17in monitor; it works fine.
I've tried resetting PRAM several times, rebuild desktop. I set the Energy saver control panel to never. Trashed the monitors and energy control panl preference. I know it's the System because when I startup in OS X, everything is OK.
