Hello,
After installing an internal 80GB HD to my G3 MT and partitioning it I
installed OS 10.0.3 to the first partition. This was successful, and a note
appeared saying the computer would restart in 30 seconds. However, when the
computer restarted, it showed a broken icon.
What is ny next step?
Several possibilities.
1) throw that 10.0.3 disk far far away and get 10.2 ;-) Seriously, 10.0.3 is so far away from usable it's not funny.
2)I had a similar problem on a G3 MT with 10.2. The boot HDD was the only device on the bus, and was jumpered for 'Master'. I removed the jumper and it worked fine.
3)There's a jumper on the motherboard (J28, iirc) that differentiates between the DT and MT setup. Some machines have both positions jumpered, and that seems to cause these sorts of problems.
