While trying to figure out how to run the internal monitor in my G3 AIO
off a PCI video card I read some of the Apple developers notes on the
various personality cards for the Beige G3's.
I've heard the Audio-only I/O card referred to as Whisper and the more
advanced card with RCA audio/video I/O called Wings. These nicknames
were not used in the documentation, but Apple Video and Apple DVD-Video
cards were mentioned.
I'm guessing the Apple Video card is the one I've got installed ("Wings"
RCA video/audio and S-video I/O). This card also has a DAV connecter on
it - similar to the DAV connectors on the A/V Quadras. Does anyone know
if anything was ever made to fit this slot?
I'm not quite sure what the DVD-Video card is supposed to be, it
apparently does not have this DAV connector. I'm wondering if the DVD-
decoder card from a B&W would fit in that DAV slot? Just an idea...
Anyone have any info on these things?
Tom
