Kathi11/22/03 7:35 AM Lots of good scanners out there for printed text. Something no one mentions is the glass. I purchased an inexpensive UMAX Astra and I have regretted it because the glass is so thin that if I lay anything like a book on it, the glass depresses enough to interrupt the scanning bar. Just a word to the wise...scanning recipes will most certainly mean scanning books, so I would look for a flat bed scanner with a good sturdy glass.
